Hello! My name is Hedy, and I recently graduated from UCLA, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Communication Studies. I've always held a deep passion for reading and writing, and believe that learning to write effectively is essential to succeeding in any field of study. My goal is to make the writing process fun and enjoyable for my students and help them gain confidence in their ability to communicate through their writing. Regarding my background and qualifications, I've received top marks in all writing-intensive courses and exams in high school and at UCLA. Here are my standardized testing scores: - 5 on AP English Language and Composition exam (out of 5) - 5 on AP English Literature and Composition exam (out of 5) - 740 on SAT Subject Test in Literature (out of 800) - 740 on SAT Critical Reading (out of 800) - 780 on SAT Writing (out of 800) Throughout college, I served as a writer and editor for UCLA's student-run newspaper The Daily Bruin, where I edited hundreds of articles prior to publishing. As a student journalist, I've had years of experience helping reporters become more compelling writers and storytellers, and I'm confident I can help students discover their voice and hone their writing as well. I've also served as a volunteer tutor at Reading Partners, a non-profit that provides support for students reading below grade level at under-resourced elementary schools. I am able to tutor at all grade levels (K-12 and college), and can assist with all your reading/writing needs, including grammar, organization/structure, brainstorming, essay writing, proofreading, test preparation, research, and more. No matter where you are in the writing process or what you need help with, I will provide tailored, individualized support for your needs and equip you with the tools and skills to succeed. I am also available to assist with college applications and personal statements. Having gain acceptances to every University of California campus (including UC Berkeley) and other top schools such as NYU and the University of Michigan, I am very familiar with the college application process and understand what it takes to help you stand out to your dream schools.
